Can i set same Node ID of 2 system in a SIP network, I mean i have 4 sites tied using SIP, can i set Node ID=200 of 2 sites.
Regards

All the sites on your network should have a unique Node ID. So no, change one of them. This is in the NTP's as follows:

An IP Telephony node is defined as a collection of Signaling Servers and/or
Voice Gateway Media Cards. Each node in a network with one or more call
servers has a unique Node ID.

No you can’t have same 2 node numbers, but I’m just curies why would you want to have 2 same node numbers.

If you implement Geographic redundancy, then you must use the same node number on all of the switches.

Actually one of our tech accidentally set Node ID of 2 site same and i need to change these?? My question are
(1) What could happen wrong with 2 PBX having same Node ID?
(1) How do i change Node ID?? Can i remove node form SS and
then recreate?

You can have the same node ID. You should just have a different VPNI per site.

Yes you remove and rebuild from element manager.

Geo redundancy you do not set the same node id. You use a relaxed node id on the sets. For instance site 1 has a node id of 2001 and site 2 has a node id of 2002 and so on. on the set when you get to the node id you enter 200 and it will register to either.

To move to a different Node ID the easiest way I have found is insert the CD go into install menu choose option "e" basic node config. Put in your new details, reboot. Go into elephant manager delete existing node, Retrieve new node from the SS ELAN address, complete node config, save and transfer reboot. Then reboot any follower/VGMC/MC32s etc

Make sure you go into LD32 "dis vtrm 0 n (thats cust 0 and n=Virtual trunk route number)

LD 16 change the node in the virtual route to the new node.

Ld 32 "enl vtrm 0 n"

Job done
