Here's the problem: Installed Radeon 7500 as well as drivers into slot 1 motherboard (GA-6BXC) went to boot up windows ME gave me this error:
This device cannot find any free memory range resources to use (code 12)
Then I went into the video problem and pulled off this info so that someone could help resolve the problem.
Conflicting Device List:
Memory Range 00000000-0FFFFFFF used by: System board extension for ACPI Bios
Memory Range: 00000000-0FFFFFFF used by: System board extension for ACPI BIOS
These are in the list with the little memory chip with a red cross through them:
Memory Range 00000000-0FFFFFFF
Memory Range 00000000-0000FFFF
In/Out Memory Range 000C0000-000CCFFF
Memory Range 0000000-0001FFFF

And I can't manually configure or change these settings, if anyone can help that would be great thanks!

Remove all the conflicting devices fom device manager
and reboot .

Most of all the conflicting devices are related to the ACPI BIOS and IDE, should I still remove them?

Update: I cannot remove the Radeon or anything that conflicts with it because the radeon is conflicting with the Intel Pentium Processor to AGP controller as well as the ACPI IRQ holder for PCI steering. I cannot remove the radeon as the computer freezes and locks-up. I'm in a hole and I need some help...thanks!

Windows will find them all after a reboot .
And possibly allocated I/O and memory ranges that don't make conflicts.

Thanks for the idea, but it didn't help at all....does anyone have anymore ideas on how to help?

smaxted,
Did you ever find a solution to your problem?
I installed a GeForce3 5700 today and experienced the same problems. Microsoft couldn't help and the vendor(MSI) hasn't responded to me yet. "Code 12" seems to be very elusive.
Thanks

In your Bios setup, is there a choice of "assign IRQ to VGA"?

Thanks micker777. I dumped windows Me and installed Xp. Card and drivers then installed fine.
It's good to game!!

So I assume it's something to do with Windows ME...i'll dump it and get windows xp

As far as i remember ME was one of the worst operating systems made by windows, their seem to be alot of faults in its programming. Which means there are lots of driver conflicts, my advice to anyone experienceing software based problems to dump ME and move either to 2000 back to 98 or depending on the spec to XP.
