I am experiencing difficulty on using policy routing when trying to send packets out through the same interface that they came in on. That is:
Router A receives a packet on F0 192.168.1.1 /24 and I want to redirect it to router B 192.168.1.2. I don't have a specific destination, so I cannot set a static route, instead I set up a route map identifying the interesting inbound traffic and set my next-hop to 192.168.1.2. I apply the route map policy to F0 on router A. This does not function for some reason.
If I set my next hop to a different subnet (ie 192.168.2.1 /24), corresponding with a different interface it works fine, so I know the policy is correct. But when I try to send it back out the same interface it does not work.
Has anyone experienced this issue? Do I need to bounce it off of a loopback interface?
Thanks,
Jarek
