You can use Winbind to allow Samba logins to be authenticated against Windows Domain Controllers. I have this working with Windows NT 4.0 Domain Controllers but it should also work with Windows 2000 (although I suspect that you may have to be running Windows 2000 in compatibility mode and not native mode for this to work).
If we are talking simply about users being able to access shares on a Samba server authenticated on Win2K environment clonny2 is not correct. You can do this using Samba just prior to version 3. There are instuctions on how to do this available. We have done it here in my office where we have a Samba/PostgreSQL RHat 8.0 machine and Win2k servers configured for ADS.
Thus anybody know documentation to establish a LinuxSamba CVS server
with wincvs clients over SSH I' m able to share a map with authentication
by the Windows PDC but is it possible to authenticate user within
wincvs against the PDC through the Samba CVS server
Thanks in advance
