IS there any utility / tool which is alternative to samba? . i want to access ( map drive or mount ) linux filesystem from windows as we do in samba.. is there anything which i can download and use?? plz advice.. this samba is giving me so much pain.. i can see the workgroup but when i click it says not accessible, network path not found...

Yip, NFS. The free SFU 3.5 software available for download from Microsoft includes NFS software for Windows.

NFS is the way that samba actually shares the files anyways, it just makes it comprehensible for the rest of the windows computers to access the files by the regular tools they use usually.

On a side note, I can't believe someone is recommending Services for Unix in this forum.
