I am trying to copy a License file onto our MD110. In the past i have used the "FICPI" command using X-MODEM over a V24 Interface, however today i have a Network connection.

So

a.) is it possible to use TTY comands to copy the file across to the MD110, If so which ones?

b.) If i cannot, then i need SAM, anybody know where i can get a copy of this?

Further info, i have tried using FTP in DOS and this fails, i also tried CUTE FTP Pro and this failed too.

normally FTP would do just fine,

just use NIU login info to logon via FTP.

what ftp errors are you getting?

What You See Is What You Get

Getting into the system is fine, but using FTP commands (which i am not overly familiar with) does not give me the responses i expect.

i.e. I am quite familiar with DOS Commands, so i would expect CD \SYSN\ to change the directory, it does not, i also tried CD \SYS\ (which is as listed in "DIR" command).

Both of these prompted the response "521 \SYS\ is not a directory"

that's because SYSN isn't there

skip the /SYSN/ part, it is MD110 related not FTP related.
a graphical FTP client like wsftppro or smartftp works fine.

Agreed, the file structure is a little confusing, I have managed to complete this using the WINDOWS FTP Client.

Send
Local File
Remote File (\SYSN\USR1\SES\LI\)

Thanks for your help anyway.

Any ideas where i can downlaod SAM ?

How do you connect to MD? Over the LAN or direct (computer <--> MD )
Have you network connection in MML mode?
It is possible to connect to MD using Internet Explorer with address ftp://xx.xx.xx.xx (xx.xx.xx.xx it is NIU IP address )

That's a good tip, i did try to do this earlier, but forgot the prefix of "FTP://"... Doh!!!

Have just tried this and it works a treat.

Thanx

It's much easier to use SAM and MDDT to get the file loaded
more easily and quickly.

Thanks for the tip. The 2nd part of my question was:

"b.) If i cannot, then i need SAM, anybody know where i can get a copy of this?"

Can anybody answer this

Regards
Al
