Does anyone know what table in Micros would store the sales tax value on discounted items? Thanks!

Sorry not sure what you're after. So let's try this.

$10 sale
$5 discount
8% sales tax
.80 normal sales tax
.40 sales tax after discount (assuming the sales tax should be reduced on this particular discount)
$5.40 total amount due

what amount are you asking the Micros POS to report on?

To my knowledge, @TobeThor is correct in their list of discount information.

Micros doesn't calculate tax on the full price of an item, it is on the discounted amount. If you have a total that is $10, and a $5 coupon, the tax is then recalculated for the $5 remaining. So the 8% sales tax is applied to the $5.

Micros doesn't calculate tax on the full price of an item"

That's not accurate. Micros can calculate the sales tax on either the total sale or the discounted sale amount, it all depends on how you set it up in the discount definition to effect Tax 1, Tax 2, Tax 3, Tax 4 etc.

"Micros would store the sales tax value on discounted items?" I didn't understand this part; it appeared that they are asking if Micros can tell you how much sales taxes were reduced; which I doubt is possible unless you have a single discount button, but I also didn't understand why anyone would want or need that info.

@TobeThor, correct. I missed the Tax 1 and 2 and such. The site I am at base the discount on the remaining amount of the total. Discounts and certain Comp'd tenders are Tax exempt, so tax is recalculated after tenders are applied and any amount remains.

I too, do not understand why you would want that.

It turned out the numbers that were causing the discrepancy in net sales were not the sales tax on discounted items, but the "amount due total". The numbers were within 11¢ of each other so it was difficult to track down. What exactly is the "amount due total"? Thanks!

Is this for Micros, and what version?

In 9700, EMC > Configurator > (Select the RVC) RVC Information > Descriptors, look to see where it says "amount due" or "amount due total". Depending on where this is, it is for the Total Due (either full total or Remaining total due) with taxes and service charges and such included.
