Sales invoicing: Tax on Cost

I have a situation that I want to assess tax based on the cost of an item and not the price. Is there a setting in GP 7.5 that would do this or if not, does GP 9.0 have it (upgrading in process)?

No it doesn't do it and no it doesn't do it in 9 and perhaps you should be upgrading to 10?

Actually, there is..this is from the Microsoft Forum.

"You will need to revisit your Tax Detail Setup window, select the tax detail
in particular that is being applied when taxes are calculated and change the
Based On drop-down from Percent of Sale/Purchase to Percent of Cost. This
should work for your particular situation."
