What serial number is used for licensing? The sn on the g450 cpu or the sn on the back of the gateway? Also what ethernet service does the server use to communicate with the g450's? (cust lan, cna)

Thanks as always.

SN ON THE BACK OF THE GATEWAY.SERVER COMMUNICATES VIA IP SO DONT THINK IT MATTERS ONCE THERE'S IP CONECTIVITY I USE ETH 0 WHICH IS LABELLED ETH1

This is for an S8800 with no ipsi. What ip address do I specify in the mgc list? can i use CNA? Is there a document for this implementation?

make sure you run the command "ip license-server" on the G450, and then do a "copy running-config startup-config" so it gets saved on the next reboot/powerdown.

Typically you would use the Corporate LAN IP address that the S8800 is on... I would NOT use CN-A, it is usually better to use the Corporate LAN interface, so you can also get to the G450 and the client also needs this capability to use the "VAL Manager" if they want the ability to FTP files to/from the G450. CN-A is usually only used for dedicated IPSI's, gateways belong on the corporate LAN.

Your using practically the PE interface so better do the command "add ip-int pro" to create your Processor Ethernet Interface, edit the MGC list then your good to go.
