S8720 & IPSI

We are about to go for S8720 how many IPSI board required for S8720, one of our vendor is telling one IPSI2 Board is sufficient,

Is 1 IPSI board is fine with S8720 servers

We are going for 2 G650 Media Gateway, this is sufficient for our requirment,

we need only server duplication ( Reliabilty),

for this requirment is only 1 IPSI2 is sufficient or we need 2 IPSI, to system to work

If you are going with server duplication then you will require 2 IPSI boards. With dual servers it will have dual control networks. You will need to place control network A in one 650 and bontrol network B in the other 650. The Two 650s are connected via the TDM bus.

as stated earlier the S8720 is not the driver of the ipsi's it is depending on the amount of G650's ( portnetwork) and what reliability you choose
High reliability will give you 2 g650 with each a ipsi

see the ipsi as the way for the S8720 to talk to the chasis in IP connect mode

be aware pof the correct amount of ip medpro's as these are the priciest part of the solution
