If there is a schedule using ASA does this suffice to make all necessary changes for daylight savings or should you change via ASA as well as the S8700 server via the web?

Is there a place where the server looks at the ASA time or vice versa?

Another question. I'm assuming CMS uses it's own time date stamp for reports. Where in CMS do you see if Daylight savings is being observed as well as the command or location to set the time?

In regards to the CMS part: If I DATE command at the root level in CMS would this update the time on ths server and in the app after I reboot?

There is a Daylight Savings Rule in your Communication Manager. You can view it via ASA. Display or Change daylight-savings-rule. Make sure this is populated with the correct. Usually it is set up on installation. I believe CMS gets it's date and time fdeed from the S8700s.

I had recently done daylight saving and it very easy

The Step are: you can go to your web Switch login and go to Maintence->Server configuration->Configure Server then continue untill you can click on Configure Time Server, at the screen clear out "Use these Network Time Servers", then go back to the main menu then click on "Server Date/Time" then put in the time you want to configure

Then when daylight saving over, follow the exact step above and configure it to sync the time with your Domain Controller

If you want to change the time for CMS just use date commmand and this will sync with your report. Same for IVR and Audix

You can (and should) have NTP and Daylight saving time at the same time. With the Web interface, set up your NTP server (under Configure Server) and the time zone you are in (Set Date/Time), this will make sure the Server is on the correct time regardless of DST (your NTP server should provide UTC which doesn’t change DST!)

Then in CM, set up the DST rules, this will change the time on your server when DST changes while NTP makes sure the time is not off.

Thanks all. When I noticed it wasn't an option in ASA I went and poked around on the web and found these options as well. Thanks for responding!
