Are the following steps correct for enabling and configuring alarm notification/call?

1. Setup Alarm Enable

"almenable -d b" (sets dial-out for both numbers)

2. Setup Alarm Call

"almcall -f xxxxxxxxxx -a y"
"almcall -s xxxxxxxxxx -a y"

almenable

The almenable command is used to administer or display Alarm Origination (Traditional Dial-out Modem Calls), and SNMP Alarm Origination. These parameters can no longer be administered via the DEFINITY SAT Interface. All almenable parameters will be logged into alarm_oss.conf file.


Usage: almenable [-d [n|f|b]] [-s [y|n]] ] | [-?]
no argument: display
-d: set dial out alarm origination to
n - neither (default)
f - first number only
b - both numbers
-s: enable (y)(default) or disable (n) snmp alarm origination

almnotif

This command is used to administer Restart Notification Parameter, Clear Alarm Notification Parameter, and Suspension Threshold for Clear Alarm Notification.


Usage: almnotif [-r [y|n]] [-c [y|n]] [-s [threshold]] | [-?]
no argument: display
-r: enable (y) - default - or disable (n) restart notification
-c: enable (y) - default - or disable (n) clear alarm notification
-s: set suspension threshold to "threshold"
values allowed: 1-15
default value: 5

almsummary

This command displays the presence or absence of outstanding alarms against DEFINITY and Server.


Usage: almsummary [-?]
no argument: display MultiVantage, Server and Messaging Alarms

almdisplay

Displays the list of outstanding Server Alarms.


Usage: almdisplay [-v] | [-?]
no argument: display Server Alarms
-v: verbose mode, displays Server Alarms,
including the description found in
the original alarm string
This command also supports the following options:

almdisplay -serv [-v] (display server alarms)
almdisplay -def [-v] (display MV alarms)
almdisplay -chia [-v] (display Messaging alarms)
almdisplay -sec [-v] (display security violations)
almdisplay -res [-v] (display resolved alarms)

I'm asuming you can't use your ASA login to modify the Linux Bash? I have ot go in with SA, Cust or Craft?
 
No you can use your ASA login. If enabled just type "go shell" from terminal emulation (not Gedi) and your in business.

 
Is there anyway to setup alarm notification to say a pager via the Web GUI?
