you can "cat /etc/ecs.conf" that will tell you the server type ("ServerType": ibmx306 is an S8500B, ibmx305 is an old S8500A, etc) and some other items... Serial #? don't think so. You can get the IPSI serial #'s, in the "Maintenance Web Page", bottom left link. Never needed the S8500 Serial Number, I have needed to know if it was an S8500A, S8500B, or an S8500C, for example, when doing a CM4 upgrade, because you need to add a 512MB memory module, and it's different part # between the S8500A and S8500B, for example.
