I have recently installed two S8300D for different customers. For no apparent reason the switchs will reboot on their own. Would anybody know why this is happening, is their a setting I’m missing?

Any help would be grateful

Thanks

checkout support.avaya.com for the CM release you are running (I assume CM 5.2, or CM 5.2.1), there are KERNEL and CM patches for this issue.

we had the same issue as well for all our CM5.2 & CM5.2.1 systems and loaded the lastest service pack - Kernel and over-writeable patches when they were available.

also ensure your mgp firmware is up to date as well

In some instances, S8300 servers running Communication
Manager Releases 5.2 and 5.2.1 enter a state where the server appears to be locked up.

When this occurs the server is unable to provide service. After a period of approximately 6 minutes the Media Gateway recovers the server by forcing a full Linux reboot, which takes approximately 2 to 4 additional minutes for a total
service outage of approximately 8 to 10 minutes.

This can occur on S8300B, S8300C, or S8300D servers running
Communication Manager 5.2 or 5.2.1 as a primary server or as an LSP. G430 Media Gateways will not recover the server correctly unless the gateway is running firmware vintage 30.12.1 or greater.

cheers !
