I'm sure this has been a common thread, but just received a new G450/s8300D/mm711/mm710 and the GW comes up with no problem and all the modules are recognized, except the 8300. Says initializing. Tried removing/re-inserting with both power off and on. I'm able to config the GW, but I'm not able to start the 8300 install. I wasn't sure if it needed a config before it gets recognized, but I would assume the GW would at least see the HW. I'm unable to ping the services port either, but not sure if that's a win7 thing or related. Any tips on troubleshooting it further and deeming it a bad module or not?

you could see what "show logging file content" gives you from the gateway , also the windows 7 is always a good option do you get a ping reply from 192.11.13.6 when plugged into the services port on the s83?

if you haven't obviously do so and try to rebuild the server with an external dvd drive

I am unable to ping the services port of the 8300 and when I run show faults on the GW I get msg:

<187>Jun 23 21:49:03 GurgaonG450 -NoTag: -NoUTC 2015 920 1 mediagateway.g450 | 0 MSY-TRPMAJNO[VOICE-Error: Unsupported Media Module extraction 000V1, ID=7001042166

Going to do the win7 fix just to see and of course the unit shipped with only 1 CM template CD and not SP.

The default Avaya CD`s have been usless and I have had them where it says its SP when actually its templates , always best to get the correct version from plds

I keep my handy SP/CM CD's as backup, only this site is way remote. Regardless of what's installed on the s8300, if anything, I'd think the GW would still show the HW in the slot with the model/version etc..

Not if system platform is not actually installed

Made the Win7 change and still no replies from it.

I know this sounds stupid, But do you have the S8300 in the correct slot? What gateway are you using?

The gateway will not recognise it is there unless it is in the right slot.

Sorry, should have posted the results. I'm all set. This was the first time my company wanted me to do the install and not pay Pro Services. lessons learned were: An OS needs to be installed before the GW recognizes the HW / due to remote hands not following the connection instructions the 8300 services port was not responding due to the CD/DVD drive not being connected to the 8300 usb port. Lastly, never agree to do a full/remote install of a system that can only be sourced in country where you aren't physically at site.
