Hello all
i have an Aura S8800 running SYS Plat 1.1.1.94.2 and CM 5.2.1
so far so good it is running fine and licensed but a have a second site a S8300/G430 as LSP

I cannot load sys plat 1.1.1.94.2 only VSP 6.0.2.0.5 will load or the stock CM5.2.1 CD

How can i get this lsp to work with my main server.

Should i only load CM5.2.1 and if so how i will license it.
because S8800 is using WebLM.
If i have no SYS Plat on the S8300 i cannot get the Host ID to licence it. How i will proceed with PLDS for this.

Or should i load sys plat and them run MBT template?
If i load VSP 6.0.2.0.5 will it work with the main server running VPS 1.1.1.94.2?

I try RFA with the second site SAP# but i have nothing.

Need some guidance on this one as the manual in unclear.

Thank for you reply

you always upgrade the LSPs first. you'll have to call Avaya or an Authorized Avaya Business Partner to straighten this out for you.

This is a new installation

Dan,

Did you check with your distributor on the SAP# for the second site? You might have the wrong number for RFA.

My thought is you will load the 5.2.1 CD on the S8300 and use the serial number of the G430 for the LSP license, which you will load through the Maintenance Web Interface.

Do you see anything relating to the LSP when you enter your LAC in PLDS?

I have not done a new system with an lsp in PLDS yet. I think your 5.2 licenses will still be in RFA. Is the Multiple Locations feature turned on in RFA?

I have nothing in PLDS or RFA

The first thing you need is to get your distributor (Wescon?) to load the SAP order for this into your PLDS. This might take a few days. So, it is not in PLDS, go chase them.

Next, you will need to get the serial number of your G430 and have an LSP license generated. This will be another SAP order if it is not already on your original oder... for the price of 1cent. You will need two licenses to install your G430... LSP license and the password file... authenticaion file.

Once, you got these files, you can start the install of your G430 as an LSP using the CD drive, if you ordered it with your system. Since, we are talking about LSP, I assume you have at least an S8300D media module? As far as i know, WEBLM is not required for this, as after you load the software, you can use the AIW.

I have followed your post and manual
now it show on the LSP site
StatusLicense
CommunicaMGR License Mode: Normal
Network used for License: NONE
License Serial Number is 000000000000000 on NONE

I can telnet to the s8300 server at command prompt but doing SAT will return me ACCESS denied so i can not gain access to it.

Normally i in the old way regular CM5 or CM4 i had to install license to get access to SAT in LSP.

Daniel,
They changed this in CM5.2.1. --> Normally i in the old way regular CM5 or CM4 i had to install license to get access to SAT in LSP. I have ran into this surprise.

You getting SAT access denied is one of the indicator of no license file :)

How did you get the license? The main server is thru PLDS and the LSP as to be with RFA right? because i cant get Host ID for my lsp

License file is generated thru a SAP order with the serial number of the G430 for of 1cent. You need to place an order for the LSP license and get that from RFA. Typically, you will need to install the base software and from the craft port go to the AIW and from there configure and load the LSP license and authentication file.
