I can't figure out how back up a S8300. I installed the Avaya MV_IPTel Services Manager on my PC. I beleive that this a FTP server among other things. I went to my S8300 and made sure that FTP is enabled on the firewall section. Then went to the backup now section selected full backup. Selected FTP, user name anonymous, host name the IP address of my FTP server, directory /pub. Then selected start backup. The file is never sent to my FTP server. What am I doing wrong? I searced but I can't find a step by step procedure and the avaya docs are not that clear.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
i will give you some steps to bsckup your S8300
1-install ftp server on your pc (win ftp)
2-in the backup page inter the next
your pc ip address
username anonymous
password anything@anything.com
directory /
3-in the ftp server enable anoymous login
4-start the backup operation

win ftp is easy to use and available on the wap

You have to have IIS loaded on your computer. This is a component of Windows. Then you need to configure it. It should be under Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Internet Information Services. Click the plus sign a couple of times until you get to the Default FTP Site. Right click on it and under the FTP site tab, select the IP address of your laptop, go to home directory tab and click write. Take note of the Local path here as that is where the files will be on your laptop. Click OK.

On the S8300, go to backup now. Select the three files. (don't do full). Check network device, pull down FTP. User name anonymous, password is anything you'd like, host name is your computer's IP address, and director is /. Click start backup.

I use Cerberus as an FTP server and it works great, you need to make sure on the anonymous account you setup on your FTP server that you enable it to take downloads, there should be somewhere on that server that you can enable the attibutes for that account.
