Hi

I got a new CM5.0 SES(SIP), I found a dummy MAC address, eth0, eth1 on S8300 WebLM. I was wondering if you could tell me which one is the correct MAC address can be used for RFA download lic.

Thanks

ssh to the box. Telnet if it's opened.

type /sbin/ifconfig | more

The results with show you the administered interfaces and they coresponding information for each.

I don't know what information is displayed in the web interface but I know for certain the info you need can be seen in linux.

Yeah, none of that will really work.

step 1. enable SES, and configure some of it (enough so you get the WebLM link)
step 2. launch the "WebLM" link
step 3. login to WebLM, admin / weblmadmin
step 4. you will be able to get the HOSTID from here.

one thing to note: If you DISABLE SES, then RE-ENABLE SES, the HOST ID EACH TIME will be different. Yeah, lots of fun. once you enable SES, DO NOT DISABLE it, or your .xml license file won't work, and its a major PITA to get AVAYA to change the HOSTID.

Hmm didn't do anything really... shut down the box.. after transport turned the box on and?? HostID is changed and license went into grace period... Hmmm..

Rebooted it again.. and another HostID.. welcome to the wonderfull world of AvaNo...

yes, this sounds like a bug AVAYA has, I would open a case with them, see what they say.

Hi All,

If your switch is S8300 with IA770 + SES. Please use the get-mac-address to get the mac address as your host ID for RFA.

You will need the MAC-address of the eth0 interface, it will also show up when you issue the command get-mac-address.
