S8300 backup

Hi has anyone seen this before:

backup: Performing save translation, please wait.....
backup: 4: Lock failed with error -- Timer expired -- Scheduled Backup terminated for xln
Performing ERROR RECOVERY, please wait.....
..... ERROR RECOVERY COMPLETE .....

It continues and seems to do the backup but even when trying to back up to another server it comes up with this?

Thanks, I have had to escalate as that one doesn't cover it; the closet I can find is for the S8700 and that is PSN 506U although 306U is quite close as well.
