S81 Sendmail error

Getting the following errors when a SCO Unix (7.1.1) system at boot:

"S81 SENDMAIL ERROR" etc/mail/newaliases can not execute
"S81 SENDMAIL ERROR" usr/lib/sendmail can not execute

Have searched the web a bit, but came up with nothing.

Sounds like your sendmail.cf file is corrupt. If you have m4 try to rebuild the .cf file with your .mc file doing the following:

m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf

I just found out that the system is new and they have never used sendmail before. Since I'm unfamilure with sendmail, I'm assuming it also could be a setup issue. I'll be looking into that plus your advise... Thanks, KB
