Hi,

I have a borland builder c++ 6 application that has english text.

When a new language is selected I load from a text file the new language and swap the text shown on the current form components. This works fine with german, french, spanish.

My question is this, I have been asked to add Russian text to the application. When I paste some Russian text into a caption it is replaced by question marks ??? ???

Do I need to upgrade or switch something on so I can enter Russian text into a caption ?

Thanks
TBlue.

It could be that you need to switch the Font->Charset variable to RUSSIAN_CHARSET. Unfortunately this needs to be done for every component on your form. I am having a similar problem trying to implement Turkish into my application.

If you make any headway please post your results here. I'd be interested to know how you resolve this issue.

we in Russia probably have Rusian as default charset ;)
jf cource that mean we'll have same problems trying to implement accented characters of French and German.

Two ideas come to my mind, both not tested.
(I have no Builder after all)
(I pretty sure I can do it in VB6 - at least there is possiblity. Does it possible in Builder I do not know.)
1) means modifying your form (that is, design time) - that probably is bad 'cause it will stop work with German etc.:
if there is a way to save your form as text
then you can run some text replacing tool to search for FONT and changing it so it contains CHARSET
2) if you can enumerate all form controls in runtime, you can probably modify FONT attribute just before loading captiuons in appropriate language.
