Here is what I have done and the
errors. If you can help solve, thank you in advance.

The error I get when running the "packaged application":
Execution of this application has stopped due to a run-
time error. The application can't continue and will be
shut down.

The program I wrote:
Relatively simple database routines with forms, reports, tables, and queries using Acccess XP with Developer and the Packaging Wizard. I had the wizard scan and it found additional files for packaging which I included. No
macros are in the application. Set up the installation
files using a Win2000 machine.

When the error does not occur:
Running on Win2000 with Office XP installed and using
msaccess.exe.
Running on Win 2000 runtime with Office XP installed.

When the error occurs:
Win 98 machine clicking on some buttons (not all) in a
form. (using runtime)
Win XP machine clicking on some buttons (not as many as
the Win 98 machine).

Therefore, it always works on my machine (Win 2000) -
runtime. Some features work on the WinXP machine but even
less work on the Win98 machine.

HELP. This programs has no compile errors and no macros.
It has some basic VB code.

MS has a way of making the runtime package difficult to install smoothly, cos of the VB code. You may want to go to the VB editor, Tools, References, and add the MS Access Object 2.5/3.51 object compatibility library and re-create the runtime!

I would strongly suggest getting a third party installation tool. No bloating, fast and light install, user friendly and clean uninstall.

I will try it on my end if i can soon to see if I can replicate your error.

The MS Access Object 2.5/3/51 object compatibility library was all included. Thanks for the quick answer, but it did not help. What would you suggest for a 3rd party tool? I want cheap, but good.

Thanks, Chris
