I have a computer with office 2k3 installed. Updated to sp1 with all post updates installed.
I am attemtping to insert a file into a newly created word document. I am able to drag and drop a file onto the open word document and it attaches perfectly....
However, when i click "Insert", "File" I get a VB Runtime 5 error. Reasearch has shown that this error indicates an improper Argument.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As an IO error number, 5 is Access Denied. Could there be a problem with the file you are trying to insert? Can you open it separately?

Yes. It will open seperatly. I am wondering if mayby the insert command which opens the file explorer is trying to default to an invalid location. However i have gone through the options menu and confirmed all locations listed exist and are accessable.

Is thier a way to restore all defaults, or the equivilent of a /cleanpst switch?

It appears to work with the winword /safe switch. So what is that telling me?

Turned out that the problem was with an addin that i somehow missed while searching the computer. Learn something new every day.
