I just created a VB6 app that is able to display crystal reports based on the database it is pointing to. While it runs fine on my PC, when I try to run it on another PC, I keep getting a runtime error "Error 429: ActiveX component cannot create object".

I don't have crystal Reports XI installed on this PC; I just copied over the ActiveX components that the VB application needed.

My (stupid) question is, does CRXI need to be installed on every PC that is going to use my app?

The reason I am asking is because my free trail license expired on the PC in which I wrote the application, and I can no longer run CRXi, but my VB app still works fine on it. That leads me to believe that I just need certain files on all the other PCs but I am not wure.

It looks like the ActiveX viewer is not installed successfully on that computer, uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps.

thanks for the quick response. How do I install the ActiveX viewer?

I tried those instructions and succesfully installed the ActiveX viewew on the target PC, but I still get the same error (429: ActiveX component cannot create object). I did some more searching and the business objects website said that cdo32.dll needed to be registered as well. I did that, but still getting the same issue.

WdnUlik2no,
