I get an "Unexpected General Protection Violation" error when trying to view or print some reports in Paradox 8.

When I click the "Abort" button, I sometimes get a "Runtime error 216 at 00002E50" error message and am thrown out of Paradox.

Can anyone explain these conditions?

Is there anything I can do to prevent these errors?

Thanks

I don't know what the error code means. A wide guess would be memory error.

I would just rebuild the reports in Pdox 8.

Thanks JoeNg.

Thru trial and error I have solved the mystery.

In my report, I was using a detached header and had inserted and deleted fields in the record band table while the header was detached.

Even though I couldn't see them, there was header text that was off the right side of the page. I was getting a notification that the report would be clipped.

Once I did a select all to select all the header text and hit delete, the report ran fine.

The error messages, in this case, were of no help to me at all.

What's new?

Thanks again.
