Hi,

I have a batch file which supposed to be run on many hundred machines. These machines were located globally and I have admin rights on all the machines but I not allwed to disturb the users.

Now I need to exicute this Batch file remotly.Heard this can be achieved by using the runonce registry key.
Can someone please explain how can I use this to execute the batch file.
I stored the file on all the machiens under C drive.

Your help is highly appreciated.

I created a batch file and placed at some location say c:\batch.bat
Then created a new key for RUNONCE entry by right clicking the RUNONCE and selecting NEW-->Key and then need to give the path of the batch file(here it isC:\batch.bat) under datavalue.
The path for runonce is HKey_local_Machine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Thanks for sharing. After all this site is just for that

Hi,

I managed to finish the task, but want in some different way. When the user logs on to the machine next time where I made the changes to the runonce key to execute a perticulet batch file, the user gets a command prompt and he could see even the command.
