i tried to take a project i had made at college and run it at home after downloading VB 6.0 and it was giving me an error associated with the common dialogue elements in my project. i dowloaded an add on and installed it, but it seems to be hanging up on the ADODC elements now. how do i fix this?

error message: "component "MSADODC.OCX" or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

I would try running MDAC on the machine. It is available from Microsoft. This fixes many data access issues.

I do not know if this is related to your problem, but I received "Library not registered" while using the data report. MDAC was installed to fix the problem. MDAC can be downloaded.

The following is my reply to my Library Not Registered post on this site --> My software was installed on a Windows NT machine and it uses Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). Microsoft's MDAC Setup Troubleshooting Guide said that the MDAC installer requires that you are logged in with Administrator privileges in order to properly install DLLs and create registry settings. The software was re-installed under the Administrator and it works now. This is not a requirement for Windows 95 or 98...only for Windows NT and 2000.
