running uutry does not succeed from remote 1

I have SCO 5.05 with remote servers running SCO 5.04. From remote can request files using uucp and they get queued. Running uutry from the remote does not effect the transfer until users on the host server run uutry. Settings are similar on both host and remote like inittab has m label for the gettydefs. What should be done to enable the remote users work independently.

It sounds like the server is not enabled for remote login. Try man uucp to help for the settings. If I remember right you will need some sort of login script for the remote site to pass in order to have access to the server. Also take a look at nuucp user account, you may have to change some settings there.

Thanks tb1254, indeed there was something wrong with the settings of user account nuucp. The password was incorrect as such the account was registering failed log in attempts. Thanks once again!
