I am having weird problem for running total formula using sum. i'm using cr 7 and ms-sql server

Anyway, I have a report (summary report) that I am creating that sum volume total that are generated after grouping by monthly, this report included sub report

what is my problem while data for each vol is 1 then it's cannot total up the value.but if first record (contain volume - 1) then second record (contain volume -2) it ok.the answer will be 3 (total vol = 3)

for clearly running total field for sum cannot work while each records contain value 1

for instance:

(not show,dont supress)D-> vol
(suppress, group by month) GF -> Total Vol

hopefully u understand my word.any solution or help really appreciated.

thank you.

sorry..here example data from database

so no | vol | so_mth |
1234 1 February/2003
2344 1 February/2003
1122 1 January/2003
1223 2 Januray/2003

and the outout will sum by group by so_mth and my expected output here :

__________________
February/2003

Total Vol : 2
__________________
January/2003

Total Vol : 3
__________________

but the current problem i'll face it like this :
__________________
February/2003

Total Vol : 1
__________________
January/2003

Total Vol : 3

hopefully u understand my problem is..

Are you using the running total editor (not sure it's available in 7.0) or formulas? If you are using formulas to create your running total, please share them.

i'm using running total editor

here editor detail i'm using:

Summary
Type of summary : sum

Evaluate
On change of field : cs_mas.vol

Reset
On change of group : Group#1:cs_mas.cs_mth

You should select {cs.mas_vol} for the field to summarize, choose sum, evaluate either for every record (if you have no duplicates) or on change of {table.so_no}, reset on change of group (cs_mth).

In your original approach, when you chose to "evaluate on change of" {cs.mas_vol}, this meant that the volume amount was evaluated only when it changed, so that for Jan, it remained at "1" since both records were "1".
