Hi,

You have probably all heard of the Micro$oft MDAC vulnerability...I have downloaded the patch. Now this needs to be applied to every computer running IE 6 or Mdac...my LAN has over 100 pc's that need to be updated...

I have considered using a login script, but the patch requires user response to complete. So, either I go to every computer and run it myself, or trust that the users get it right..(fat chance!).

Is there no other way to make this patch run silently accross the LAN, updating all the systems? Our network is NT 4 with windows 2000 proff on all clients.

Thanks,

Julian

Have you tried using the /s switch? Most of M$ patches allow for silent install.

How many people have downloaded the patch I wonder. Usually, I wait a week or 2 to make sure the patch is stable. I did install it on my machine, but I started having problems. It was my own fault, I managed to have SQL7 and SQL2000 loaded, and the download site mentioned issues with SQL7. Uninstalled that, and all is well with the world. Glen A. Johnson
