Running Isinteg.exe -patch, I get this error The private store could not be updated. Reason: DS_E_Communications_Problem.

Does anyone know what this is????

SUMMARY
When you run the Microsoft Exchange Information Store Integrity Checker (Isinteg.exe) with the -PATCH option, the following error message appears:
The private store could not be updated.
Reason : DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, start the Microsoft Exchange Server Directory Service. This service is required when running Isinteg.exe with the -PATCH option.

I try that and get, Error 2140: An internal Windows NT error occured?

If you are receiving the error when attempting to start the Directory Store, check to make sure the dir.edb is not set to read-only. Otherwise, go to

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=FH;EN-US;KBHOWTO

and enter the error message into the search box (select Exchange 5.5 in the product window) and go through the articles until you find the one that describes your exact problem.
