does any one know whether it's possible to run exchange on a suitably large laptop- i'd like to do this for DR purposes so it can be left offsite-obviously would need external dat and multiple nics/modems etc
cheers

I have 2 gateway laptops with exchange 2k, I use it for testing only. I don't think I would use it for disaster recovery.. good luck. byw, these laptops has 650 mhz cpu and 296 meb ram

For the cost of a laptop, a copy of win2k server, a copy of exchange server, and an external DAT drive you could get an LTO drive for your main exchange server. Send the tapes offsite. Tested and approved! Marc Creviere

thanksu for all your resonses to clarify i run a smallish shop but with lots of different production servers that i have to restore/buid in the event of a DR (A400,exchange swift trading system etc etc) so i would like a ready built box that i can restore to so a laptop would be ideal as i can bring it into work for patches sp's etc)the external dat can be used fo all machines so expenditure not a problem-any ideas appreciated
