All,

Our NetWare 6 servers all run using IP only, with IPX disabled. These servers are backed up with ARCServe 2000 AD on a W2K server. When I tried to load the Backup Agent for Open files on one of our NetWare servers (ie "load OFA") I receive the following error message: "Failed to open IPX socket". Has anyone experienced this problem?

Thanks,

Edmee

As per FAQ on CA's Web site

07/03/03 Q: When I load OFA.NLM, I receive the following message.
OFA: Failed to open IPX Sockets
OFA: Backup Agent for Open Files did not load.

A: IPXSPX.NLM needs to be loaded on the server. IPX DOES NOT need to be bound to the NIC, the NLM just needs to be loaded.

I believe this is to be corrected in the future release of OFA

Thanks for that! I will run a test on one of our non-production servers and let you know how it went.

Edmee -
Just wondering... did you ever get the ofa to work on your netware servers?
