is there a patch or fix that will allow autocad 2000 to be used on windows xp

What we do is both install it and then run it using Compatibility mode, set for Win2k - hasn't failed yet.

Right-click the ACAD setup file, select the Compatibility tab, and make the appropriate choice. Run setup. It should work as smoothly as if on a Win2k machine. Once installed, set compatibility mode for the ACAD exe file as well, and you should be in business.
I've done this on a half dozen machines, no prob.
