Hi all.
Since this is my first post, I may not get all of the information into this thread that I would like but bare with me.
We are currently running a HUGE(700Mb) Access 97 database that has been chugging along quite nicely for the past 2 to 3 years.
The company is in the last stages of switching from a Novell network to Active Directory. The database is located on the network server. My PC was upgraded 2 weeks ago from Windows 2000 to Windows XP and Office 2002 but we kept Access 97 because we have 25 users in the US and Europe who access this database .
I have several reports that use update queries to either clear out obsolete information or… to update a particular column or table. Since these changes have occurred, I receive an error box with "disk or network error" in it for every update query that I run.
When I click on Help, I receive the following message box:
· You tried to use a network drive, and the network is temporarily busy, or you're no longer connected to the network. Check the network connection, and then try the operation again.
· The disk or drive has failed."
I have also attempted to recreate the update queries and still receive this error message. If I copy the database to my local workstation, the update query runs normally.
I have also attempted to copy the database to a different server but also receive the error above. I have administrator rights to our servers. (I checked… they don't want to get rid of me…yet!)
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed
