Hello,
I'm a new member. Thanks ahead for your responses.

Question:
Is there still some version/flavor of AIX that can be run on an Intel/Pentium PC or laptop?

Preferably AIX 5.1 or higher. I have an extra IBM laptop that I want to use as a Dev/sandbox, and i require AIX for the particular tests I need to run... I recall several years ago there use to be an AIX version that you could run on your Intel PC, but cannot find anything on the web about it any longer. Does this still exist?

i ever heard about the aix running on intel pc, but it petty old. the new version olny can run on RISC Architect.

As everyone else has stated AIX only runs on IBM hardware. While there used to be RS/6000 laptops or RS/6000 PC plugin cards, if you found one it would likely only run AIX 3.x.

You can generally pick up an IBM 43p workstation on ebay for a couple hundred bucks. Most are 43p-140's which will only run upto AIX 5.1 where as the 43p-150's will run 5.2. 140's run around $150 - 200 (US). 150's run $450 - 600 (US)

I hope that helps.
