i recently reformated by pc and when i updated my drivers for my nvidia vcard, i get this error message at startup. its not really hanging up my system or anything like jayjay67 had but its a little bit annoying when i see it. is it ok if i uncheck it it in the Systems configuration utility startup?

Uncheck it.
If there are no subsequent problems, then leave it unchecked.

Take this one out also if shown:
nwiz.exe /install

I believe that the general consensus may prove NView more trouble than it is worth.

uncheck both nwiz.exe and Nvldaemon and there are no error messages anymore! thanks for the big help.. is this a bug in the Nvidia drivers?....i'll post anything if something comes up with OS....
thanks again

If memory serves correctly, one makes the convenience of changing the display settings from the systray which can still be done in the display properties box (Settings tab & Advanced button) without a hitch - The other, probably the nView applet which, unless you use multiple monitors simultaneously, pretty much only allows you to create HotKeys like in Windows "Accessibility", which is normally found in the Control Panel.

I normally disable these (they usually resurface after each driver update), as they have seemed more trouble than they are worth in resource consumption.
