Running Access 2000 happily, using switchboards for most of my databases. Today, each time I try to open one of my databases, I get "Run-time error '-2147024769 (8007007f)' - Method 'Connection' of object '_CurrentProject' failed". - The code page shown by Debug appears to concern the Switchboard Manager. The Switchboard Manager dialog boxes themselves look fine. All other forms open fine from the Database Window. Switchboards in at least 2 *sample* dbs work okay.

Restored program folder(omitting sample programs subfolder)from Backup. No change.
Uninstalled & reinstalled program. No change.
Moved everything except Switchboard & Switchboard Items table to new, test, database. Created new switchboard. Get error "Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost" (My router connection & internet connection are fine; balance of network hasn't been created yet).

Out of ideas. Help will be most appreciated. Thanks!

Hi

Is the database a split FE/BE set up?

Is the database on a network drive

If you open the db with database window visible (supressing any start up code), can you view the table tblSwitchboard items which holds the parameters to "drive" the switchboard

Thanks for coming in! - Embarrassed to say I have no idea of what FE/BE is and Access Help doesn't seem to want to tell me. I would hazard the guess that I don't have such a setup.

I am *trying* to set up a desktop-laptop home network, but so far only the desktop can see the laptop, not vice versa.

I can see the table Switchboard items, but am unable to determine if anything within it looks different than it always had. I do have documentation on that table (printed when the Switchboard was working), but don't find it illuminating.
