Multiple users use one of our access 97 databases here, however one user gets this message on a regular basis:
Run time Error '2105'. You can't go to specified record. You may be at the end of a record set. debug or end.
Then she gets a network or disk error when trying to exit. I have to ende the MSACCESS.EXE process to exit.

OS: Win XP
Office XP
MS Access 97 is loaded seperatley

It is looking for the user to input data into a required field. Check the table to see what fields are required.

Thanks for the response! I will inform user to check the required fields that she is suppose to be filling out the next time this pops up. (I feel a little embarassed that I didn't think of that) :) Have a great day.

Hi!

2105 usually means one is trying to move before the first record or further than a new record -> "You can't go to specified record".

In this case with the "network or disk error" and the way you have to close the app, I'm suspectiong corruption.

Take a look at this faq on Corrupt Microsoft Access MDBs FAQ, the corruption symptoms link...

Should it be corruption, here's one way of trying to deal with it Decompile or how to reduce Microsoft Access MDB/MDE size and decrease start-up times, even if it's marketed as something quite different.

Else, MakeItSo's faq faq705-4683 has some other info.

For Access related questions, take a look at the Access Fora (available thru the Related Fourms box at the right here)
