Ive got the office developer toolkit for access 97 and im trying to create a package to distribute a runtime access database. how exactly do you create a run-time access database? does it mean the preson who receives the database doesnt have to own a copy of access to open the database, becuase thats what im hoping.

Brightstar,

In answer to your query :

1) For Run-time access applications the users do not require a licence for access.
2) You will need to create an MDE file from your development DB in Access 97, read the information the Office Developer Toolkit guide for further info.

I hope the above answers your query.

You are not restricted to distributing only an MDE file. You can distribute a standard Access MDB file and distribute it with the standard Access run time libraries. All you are required to do is purchase the developers’ edition with license rights. Robert Berman
