I have written a wrapper in VBScript that maps a drive, runs a 16-bit application from that drive using the Run method, and then unmaps the drive.

My problem is that when the script runs the application, there is no sound. The commentary is a vital part of the application, and is audible when the application is run "straight". So why can't I hear anything when I run it from VBScript?

What do you mean by run "straight". How exactly do you run it to get sound?

By running it "straight", I mean clicking on the application itself, or clicking a shortcut to the application. Either of these gives you sound. But if you use the Run method in VBScript, the application runs without sound.

If you are clicking on the application, then do you need to map a drive to it first or are you clicking on it on the computer where it actually resides.

Thanks to Mike Smith for the solution to this one. You need to move to the folder where the application resides (along with the associated sound files), making it the current folder, before running the application.
