I am having a problem...Last night I was on Yahoo! messenger talking with a friend of mine, and I went to respond to him, and Norton Anti-virus came up in DOS and said this

"Found virus on port 2135 sys.backdoor.worm"

It asked me what I wanted to do..so I thought I quarantine it, so I did. It powered down, then rebooted. On reboot Norton Anti-Virus came up, and said "now quarantining sys.backdoor.worm on file run.exe."

Now I can't run any files, it says "Cannot find file run.exe, Windows needs this file in order to run files that have a .app extension."

Can anyone help with this virus, and if anyone could send me the file "run.exe" via E-mail I would really appreciate it! mmccormick0@yahoo.com

spike232

Sound to me like you were tagged with Back Orifice. The run.exe file is what it uses to take control of your system. I would ask the people at Symantec how to fix this or look for a freeware or shareware program that can identify and remove Back Orifice or any similar Trojan from your system. An alternative would be to restore a backed up copy of your registry from before you were infected.
