Hi,
I am trying to automate the building of PCs.
I would like to create a batch file that will do everything.
However, some things require a restart once they have finished. This means I have to wait for it to restart, login as administrator again, and run the next actions that are required.

I would like to know how to create a script that says that once it restarts, automatically login in as administrator and start action XYZ...

Is this possible?

You mean you have a list of software to install, and you want to create an unattended script to run all the installs? Presumably you'd need to know what each install requires so you can write appropriate responses.

Are we talking a few or many apps?

Does this include the operating system?

Are you setting up one or a batch of machines with same config? (thinking of using something like Ghost?)

Sorry, maybe I didn`t add enough detail.

I am:
using ghost to create machines.

I want to:
1. automate the process after the ghost image has been loaded. processes such as changing the netbios name, adding to the domain, updating MS Patches, changing resolution settings, etc.

I have batches that will do each of these, but want to string them together. As you can guess, renaming the pc and adding it to the domain requires restarts...

If you use setupmgr and sysprep (before creating image) you can supply many of those details to be automatically loaded when you boot the restored image (don't know if it will do all you need - check it out)
