Dumb question, but is there a way to run my access database without seeing the actual Access Window? Probably not, but just a thought that i had.

Thanks

Window -> Hide will hide it. However, you are probably better off looking at Tools -> Startup where there is a checkbox specifying whether the database window appears or not when you open the database (you can always make it reappear with Window -> Unhide)

sorry, what i mean is to run the database to look almost like a stand alone application, nothing but my forms show.

Yes. Within Tools -> Startup you can specify whether the database window is visible at startup, which menus and toolbars are available, select a form to automatically load, specify an alternative icon & caption, etc. The settings are specific to the database.

I'm afraid that is about the sum of customisation that is possible without resorting to API calls.

BTW: You must close & reopen your database to see the effects (except logo & caption which are immediate). Hold the left shift key down while the database loads to over-ride startup settings.

Yes i know that. it was the actual Access Window (toolbar, title bar, menu bar) i didnt want to display. to make it appear that access is not running, make the db look like a stand alone application. i dont think there is a way to do this, but thought i would inquire.

thanks

You need to convert the application to an executable file type. This is option availible in deveoper's edition of Office, and if I am not mistaken also in the Enterprise version of Office. To do this goto file and select the option from the Menu.
