I have an access report that does some totalling and when the report runs, it updates a field in a table.
I want to run the report in some instances just to update the table without printing the report.
There does not seem to be an option in the DoCmd.openreport statement to suppress printing. Is there some other command to run the report, or an alternative way to prevent it printing.?

Well, generally reports aren't used for updating purposes. They are meant to print data. If all you want to do is update a table, then I would suggest creating a query to do this.

That way whenever you just want to update, run the query instead. If you want a report and update, run the report.

Yes , I know what I should do, but the query is a very complex series of queries, which I, as a novice, barely comprehend, so I was looking for an easy shortcut. If it's not possible, I will dive fearlessly into the query design.
