I heard a rumor today that Avaya is going to do away with the Partner line in 2011, as well as most of the Nortel line,Guess they want the Office IP to be the only game in town?
Can anyone confirm this.

The good thing with the partner system is that you can actually program the system ni 20 minutes (if not too many buttons have to be programmed on individual phones) and the work in good or bad weather. They are a solid product and except the early R7 they are bulletproof. You can walk a customer on the phone through the programming of anything you want to change faster then you can dial into them (if dialing in works as it is a shaky thing) so they are easily maintained. here in North America are lots of partner systems and I have put in a few hundred over the last 10 years I bet. So the incentive should be to migrate from Partner to IP Office like it was to go from Partner to Magix by having the same phones with the new features of the larger and newer system not having a castrated version of the partner in a different box just so you can save a few bucks for new phones and then having to invest in that anyways if you outgrow it.
as much as I hated the partner or MLS phones on the magix system at least you had a complete system to work on.

I like the T3 models for IP Office, oh yeah we don't get those in North America so we get stuck with the 1600 and 9600 and i don't like either one particularly

Westi, those T3 are ugly too :)
The menu out of the T3 is put in to the 16,14 and 9600.
The T3 are the Integral phones that are now working on the ipo.
They are not that great, i have worked with the Integral 55.
But the T3 on the ipo are the I5 phones and are different from the I55 to make it easy :)

I actually like the 9670. All though, to be honest, if I want to know what the weather is like outside I would just look out the window. But the IPOD type home home screen and touch LCD screen, it's a sweet phone.

The 9670 will not work on the ipoffice :)
But you can built your own webpage that is shown on a 9650 and use that.
You only do not have a touchscreen then.

It is a lot of money a 9670 :p

If i mention the 1400 series it should be 1500 series.
The 1400 will not work on the Partner version.

Hmm, help mentions the 1400 for partner too.
Perhaps they ditched the 1500 :)
