I have the RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 evaluation kit along with two RSA SecurID tokens. I am attempting to install it and am getting really frustrated....

I have a Vanilla W2K3 Enterprise x86 installation. Its a Hyper-V Sysprep'd machine with nothing other than the OS, SP2 and all the latest updates. I have used this image several times for other software evaluation and testing and am more than happy it isn't this.

I have configured the system with a static IP and resolvable names (DNS Forward & Reverse lookups work). I am attempting to install RSA Authentication Manager and get an error at the end of the installation saying:
Unable to complete Authentication Manager configuration successfully
If I look in this file the only other error message I can see is:
ProductException: (error code = 601; message="Failure executing C:\Program Files\RSA Security\RSA Authentication Manager/config/configUtil.cmd, return code=1")

Any ideas, this was supposed to be a morning task to get the software installed but I haven't got that far yet....

Have submitted a tech support request with RSA, have had confirmation of submission, will keep you posted.

Thanks. I was going to rebuild another 2003 server without any service packs or updates and try this but I'll wait and see if you get anywhere with RSA first.

Thanks, Andy

Just got off the phone with RSA Tech Support - they are analysing some log files but said Error 601 is a generic fault and could be one of several faults, asked for additional log files for more detail, as we were talking he asked how i installed it, i mentioned it was from a Disk, he said thats more likely what the issue is, apparently you must install from mounting the ISO image with a 3rd party ISO application such as Alcohol 120% or MagicISO...

So am reverting back to my virgin Snapshot and going to try again.

In the mean time, i will let you know what the logs reveal when they get back to me.

What about just copying the CD contents to the hard drive?
I'll try this and let you know how it works out....

Andy

Copied the CD contents to the hard drive and installing from there and I get the same error....

Andy

Is there any news about this issue?

Worked!

Mounted ISO using Daemon Tools.

Install completed - and works!

OK - can't understand the logic, however I am happy to give it a shot...

ISO of the DVD created, UltraISO installed and mounted ISO image. Installation started and its taking a while... It seems to be stuck on 54%?

Did you see anything like this during the install with the ISO image mounted instead of the physical DVD?

Andy

Yes, 1st time, it stuck on 91%
Reverted to snapshot and tried again, no issues.

I created iso using folder2iso, next mounted using daemontools and same error at the end :/

speak to your reseller - get the latest version of the Installation (7.1 SP2) - it comes as an ISO and you can use your eval licenses still.

7.1 native has bugs in it anyway - such as you cant use a host name with "RSA" in it (like UKRSASVR01.Domain.Etc)

What is the host name you chose? (i called mine "Dilbert")

The hostname did have 'rsa' in it, however I have changed it, as well as tried using a mounted ISO image instead of the actual DVD. Still however it won't install correctly.
I assume I need the ISO of 7.1 SP2? I will speak to RSA next week and see if I can get the ISO image.
Is it posted anywhere?

Andy

Good plan, no its not posted, unless you are licensed and have access to SCOL

Speak to your RSA Reseller and get the ISO image.
:)

Hello guys,
i have the same issue with RSA Authentication Manager 7.1,Error code 601,
i mean,the requirement are here(Windows2003 SP2 Entreprise)
Disk space 60Gb
Memory:2Gb
aedhasdad > I created the ISO image from DVD with Alcohol And mounted it with Daemon tools, but still same error
Can you please tell me with which tool did you create the ISO,and mounted it,

Thanks

RSA Supplied the instal as an .iso image
i used Alcohol 120% to mount the image.

I have since used VMware ESXi server to install successfully too - mounting the iso as a CDROM within the Guest machine settings, this works too.

I too face the same issue with RSA Authentication manager 7.1 installation.

I get to see only "Errors occured during installation. Look at the RSA_AM log file". In logs, see something related to JVM memory allocation.

Any guess?

Thanks!

Leeqa,

how are you installing? (ROM/ISO?)
which version of RSA SecurID? (Native/SP2/SP3)
What server are you using? (VM/Virtual Server/Physical)
What OS are you installing on?
