I am having problems connecting to my TVS100 all of a sudden after a KX-TD1232 cabinet failure. We had a power failure on our TD1232 and had to put in a backup cabinet to get the system back online. The TVS100 was not affected at all and continues to run correctly, except for my ability to connect over the RS232 port. Nothing in my connection strings, ports, or programs has changed, and I am even able to take the serial cable that is interconnected to another TVS100 backup that I have running and I am able to connect to it. I had read somewhere on here that the RS232 port can become locked up, and hard power resetting the box can sometimes release the lock on the port. I unplugged the power and backup batteries to both systems, and left off for 5 minutes or so. Does anyone else have any experience with the RS232 port suddenly becoming unresponsive?
I do have the option of transplanting the HDD into the new TVS100 backup that I have, but I am worried about it not initializing correctly.
Thanks for the help in advance!

One other note: If I connect via HyperTerm and restart the TVS, I get a lot of completely random characters on the terminal window. Not sure how my settings would have changed from the settings that I have used for years now.
Thanks for the help.

it sounds like a mismatch with baud rate on pc to the tvp, default used to be 9600.
