My domain controller running Server 2003 (which is also the RRAS server) has a static IP of 10.0.0.1. When a client initiates a remote access connection, the server suddenly gets lots of new the IP addresses (10.0.0.14, 10.0.0.13, etc.) When it is then pinged, it shows as 10.0.0.14, although the original 10.0.0.1 still works. When the VPN connection is disconnected and the LAN is reconnected, it still shows 10.0.0.14 in pings on the clients, until I delete the IP leases in the DHCP server (where there are now lots of IP leases to the RRAS server) and clear the clients' DNS cache. This causes major problems with file sharing on the clients and corrupts offline files. I need the server to be 10.0.0.1 *only*, even with remote connections for this reason. I am new to remote access, and I had never thought a problem like this would occur. Is this behaviour normal, and/or how can I fix it?
