Hello.

I am trying to edit some .rpt files in VS.NET2003 version. The reports was originally made by another guy, but with the same software version.

When I open the .rpt file it seems everything is locked for editing. I have registred the CR version.

Anyone have a idea why?

(It happens when opening .rpt in a project and when opening the file outside a project.)

There are Read Only and Lock Size and Position properties for the objects that may have been set.
Try right clicking an object, and choose format field.
Under the Common tab, see if "Read Only" or "Lock Size and Position" is selected.

Brian. Thanks for answering so fast.

I cannot find any Common tag, but I find the properties and there is no indication of it being locked there. I think I might have a problem with my CR version. Is there any other way of editing .rpt files?

Nope, I only have the bundled version in Visual Studio .Net 2003. It has its limitations.

You may need to make certain the Crystal Registration information is included in your copy of .NET. I believe that if you go to help and about, you can verify if your Crystal Reports component has the proper registration information there. I found out that if you use information from another version of Crystal, it won't be accepted in the .NET registration.
